Admission Requirements for Acounting Programme

Admission Requirements

The criteria for admission into the B.Sc Accounting programme of MOUAU are as follows:

UTME MODE

Candidates for admission into the four year B.Sc Accounting Programme through UTME should possess credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Economics, obtained at not more than two sittings in the SSCE, GCE, NECO or any equivalent certificate examinations.

DIRECT ENTRY MODE

Candidates for admission into the B.Sc Accounting Programme through Direct Entry Mode should in addition to satisfying the conditions specified under UTME mode, possess any of the following:

i)   OND in Accounting with at least upper credit grade to qualify for consideration into 200 level.  Candidates with lower credit may be admitted into 100 level.

ii)   HND in Accounting with at least upper credit grade to qualify for consideration into 300 level.  Candidates with lower credit may be admitted at 200 level.

iii)  Final certificates of recognized Professional Accountancy Bodies to qualify for consideration into 300 level, provided that non-holders of OND/HND shall register and pass all relevant University General Study Courses in line with regulations specified in the students’ information handbook and formerly clarified/determined by the Departmental Board.

Other Requirements

All accounting students are required to fully abide by all the regulations/guidelines of the University as contained in the students’ information handbook, including guidelines on conduct of examinations, Course Registration and Evaluation, Grading and Scoring System, Conditions for graduation, and students’ discipline.
